Dear parent or guardian:
Unfortunately, due to positive COVID cases and contact tracing we have decided to implement what the IDPH calls an “adaptive pause” on hybrid learning. Beginning Tuesday, November 10, District 19 will move to a remote learning model. For more information about what an adaptive pause means according to the IDPH, please refer to page 3 of the following document. https://www.isbe.net/Documents/IDPH-Adaptive-Pause-Metrics.pdf
It has been important to our Administration and Board of Education to be able to provide families with a choice in learning model for their child(ren) throughout this pandemic. We are all in agreement that face-to-face teaching and learning is what is best for our students and we are all disappointed to have to temporarily suspend in-person instruction. It is our hope that we will be able to resume our hybrid model in the future. However, as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our staff, students and families, an adaptive pause is what is currently appropriate. It is essential that parents and guardians continue to call and report illnesses to our school nurse at (815) 648-1608.
Sincerely,
District 19 Administration

Estimado padre o tutor:
Sinceramente
Administración del Distrito 19

Good Afternoon,
District 19 has another positive case of COVID for a total of three confirmed. The people that need to know have already been contacted. Therefore, if no one has spoken to you personally, this doesn't affect you and there is no need for concern. All steps and protocols have been taken and are being followed. With strong efforts to continue transitioning to our hybrid/in-person learning, we wanted to remind you that we aim to remain transparent and informative through this process. We appreciate your continued flexibility during this time. Please be vigilant in understanding the procedure for determining when our school community must be informed of a positive COVID case. We will only notify those individuals who are considered close contacts to a positive case. It is critical that we not disclose positive cases to anyone other than those being directly impacted or at risk.

It is important to our administration and the Board of Education to be able to provide families with a choice in learning models for their child(ren) throughout this pandemic. We are all in agreement that face to face teaching and learning is what is best for our students. However, if at this time you feel that it is necessary to change your child(ren) status to remote learning please contact your child(ren) building office by November 5 and this will be your choice for the remaining of the semester NO exceptions.
It is critical that community members cooperate and comply with the county health department and/or our school nurse. If you want the District to stay in Hybrid Learning, we need your cooperation with the health department. If anyone within the household is experiencing ANY symptoms, ALL children are to remain home. Please contact the school nurse for guidance during school hours. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of our staff, students, and families.

Gracias, Distrito 19

District 19 Families:
We’ve received a number of inquiries regarding public health metrics and current county-level trends. We are monitoring the situation closely in cooperation with the McHenry County Department of Health. Given the sharp rises in key metrics over the past several days, changes to our hybrid learning plans and a shift back to remote learning may be required in the near future.
As has been the case since the start of our reopening journey, our plans remain at the mercy of larger public health factors. Please make preparations to be ready should a shift back into Remote Learning be necessary in the near future. We will be in communication with any updates.
Thank you,
District 19

Due to the continued concerns with the spread of the Corona Virus and out of extreme caution for the safety of our families and students, and following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to avoid large gatherings, including the upcoming play and 5th grade living museum, any audience or spectator events, such as concerts, funfairs, STEM nights, sporting events, and school-sponsored events are canceled immediately, until further notice.
School clubs, activities, and sport practices including students and staff only will still be held as of now. .

Message from Lake County Tech Campus:
The Tech Campus believes the safety of students and staff is our top priority. In our attempt to help contain and mitigate the continued spreading of the virus, the Tech Campus plans to cancel classes and close the campus beginning March 16-March 20. The Tech Campus will be on spring break the following week, March 23-27. We will follow our e-Learning procedures each day of the week. During this time, we will be deep cleaning our entire facility as well as minimizing the chances of a virus transfer from person to person. This action is not a result of any recommendation from the department of health, but I feel that it’s in the best interest of our students, staff, and our communities.

Mr. Hayunga's next evening office hours will be Wednesday March 11th from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Notifications that you will be attending would be appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome.
