COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Facilities Planning

AH19 COMMUNITY FOCUS GROUP SUMMARY

In fall 2021, the district and School Board resumed long-range facilities planning efforts following the unanticipated impact and consequences of the global Covid pandemic. As part of the strategic plan approved in fall 2021, effective communications and community engagement throughout the pre-referenda planning period were prioritized. To uphold this commitment to engage community stakeholders in discussions and problem-solving, two Facilities Planning Advisory Groups were convened in February 2022. This activity followed two Staff Workshops in January and precedes a planned Community Workshop and Community Survey for spring 2022. Read the entire Community Focus Group Summary here.

12/2021: CORE FACILITIES TEAM

The Core Facilities Team consisting of AH19 administrators, Wold Architects & Engineers, and Gilbane Construction Co. began work in early November following the Board’s review of community input (Feedback Report – January 2020) and planning for a potential November 2022 referendum (September 2021 Strategic Planning Workshop).

The team will investigate current facilities and site conditions and capabilities of existing space to meet the needs of teaching and learning. Preliminary options addressing critical needs and/or renovations will be part of a comprehensive community engagement effort to collect feedback and refine options - beginning in January 2022.
