AHHS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY. This Sunday November 6th, 9 to Noon
Hello AHHS Volunteers,
Our next ecological stewardship day will be Sunday, October 6th from 9 a.m. to Noon. We are going to host our second stewardship workday at Tamarack West, located on the south side of Tryon Grove Road 1.2 miles west of the intersection of Routes 12 and 31.
We are hopeful that we will have a number of students from the Alden-Hebron High School. Volunteer Forms are available in the HS Office & attached to the email Mrs. VanderPal sent out 10/31.
A map to the Tamarack West site from the intersection of Routes 12 and 31 is shown here:

*Wear clothes and boots that can get dirty, and please bring your own drinking water. Please wear jeans, not leggings as they will collect tough to remove seeds. We’ll have hand tools, work gloves, safety glasses, and perhaps some pre-packaged snacks.
An RSVP is appreciated, so if you know you will be attending please give me a heads up. For those who may be attending who are under age 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign the Volunteer form indicating that you are authorized to attend; you can either email the signed form back to me or bring it to the workday. (You do not need to sign, just your parent/guardian.)
As always, if there is any question of weather check in with Pete Jackson at 224-612-1803 if you have a question.
We hope to see you out at one of these events!
Pete Jackson

D19: The District’s Operating & Maintenance Budget addresses only a portion of annual facility needs with funds from the tax levy and grants. We prioritize emergency needs first, then planned capital maintenance projects, to the degree budgets allow. Recent projects include the MS/HS door & transom replacement (now meets fire safety code) and a scheduled boiler replacement (spring 2023).

A-H High School Volunteers,
TOMORROW is our next volunteer day ---- Sunday, October 23rd from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sphar site west of Hebron.
--->The Sphar site is located on Hebron Road between Alden and Hebron. Access to the site is through an old farmyard (the buildings have been removed) located across from an apple orchard. The site is on the south side of Hebron Road (15805 Hebron Road, Harvard IL 60033) and the site is around 0.4 miles east of Knickerbocker Road (to be avoided if at all possible due to the potholes!) and 4 miles west of Hebron. There is a metal green sign by the road with the lot number, which is 15805. Here is a link to the location: https://goo.gl/maps/zqwCdLuPgwFWyy2d7
--->Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and please bring your own drinking water. We’ll have hand tools, work gloves, safety glasses, and perhaps some pre-packaged snacks. Please do not wear soft leggings as seeds will cling to them and can be difficult to remove. Jeans are much better, along with leather boots or other footwear you don't mind getting dirty.
--->An RSVP is appreciated, so if you know you will be attending please give me a heads up. For those who may be attending who are under age 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign the volunteer form (located in the AH High School office/emailed to students) indicating that you are authorized to attend; you can bring it to the workday. (You do not need to sign, just your parent/guardian.)
--->There is a bit of walking over somewhat bumpy terrain from the ample parking area to the work location. Trucks may be able to drive in on the dirt road that heads south from the road (road conditions may depend on how much precipitation we get before the workday).
--->As always, if there is any question of weather please check in with Pete Jackson at 224-612-1803 if you have a question.
We hope to see you out at one of these events!
