Transfer Exploration Night Save the date: Tuesday, April 22nd, 6pm – 8pm – McHenry County College The University of Illinois System and MCC Admissions are partnering to provide an evening of demystifying the college transfer experience. High school students and families are invited to learn about how MCC and Universities partner to support students who start at their local community college, and transfer on to continue their education at various colleges and universities. This is co-presented by Transfer Admissions Reps from the U of I Systems and MCC Admissions. More detail to come. MCC Application and next steps – Spring, Summer, and Fall enrollment at MCC MCC Applications remain open for all upcoming semesters – Spring 2025, Summer 2025, and Fall 2025 Dual credit students are required to apply to McHenry County College, if they are taking courses at MCC after high school graduation If a student is unsure whether they applied, they can sign back into their application account to view their application status at www.mchenry.edu/apply. Fall 2025 students should apply to MCC at www.mchenry.edu/apply and complete the New Student Orientation (NSO) at www.mchenry.edu/orientation NSO is a 2-part process. Part 1: The online orientation is available on an ongoing basis. Part 2: the in-person orientation will take place in April/May, June, & July Incoming students register for their classes during the in-person orientation – we encourage students to sign up for one of the earlier dates. NSO dates are TBA. Admissions materials are available in English, Spanish, Polish, and Ukrainian. We can provide printed materials, or PDFs: MCC Scholarship Application for Fall The MCC Scholarship for Fall 2025 students will open over the Winter Break, ~December 30th. The scholarship deadline is in April 2025. The scholarship portal is used for all MCC scholarships, including both the general application and the High Impact full-ride scholarships. Students will access the scholarship portal at www.mchenry.edu/scholarships - students use their MCC student username and password to sign into the scholarship portal.

🎓SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Alden-Hebron's "I Decided" campaign features & celebrates the post-secondary plans of the Class of 2025. AHHS senior, Zachary Lillie: Ever since I first met my recruiter in my junior year, joining the Marine Corps became a calling. The day I turned 17, I signed the papers to join. A few days later, I went to MEPS where I passed all medical examinations and was officially sworn in. I signed up to be in 4 years of active duty where for 1 year I will be a military police officer and 3 years as a dog handler/trainer. Joining the corps will set me up for life with skills, give me a whole different view of life, and provide me with benefits. I can't wait to serve and give back to my country.

AHHS: Grand Canyon University visited for our "College and Career Readiness" lunch and learn series. The Grand Canyon University rep answered student questions, shared materials/resources, shared information about different programs, and provided information about scholarships offered. Normal practice times for everyone except HS boys will move to 7:00-9:00. Also just so everyone knows we are going to try to play FS & Varsity Boys Basketball so I will post the schedule today with the correct times. ***

LCTC: Tour of Tech, our annual open house, is on Thursday, November 14th, from 4:30-7:30. This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore what Tech offers.
